Introduction to cyber security curriculum

A collection of resources shared by the Columbus State University TSYS School of Computer Science. This set of activities is intended for 8th grade students and can be integrated into other subject areas or taught as a stand-alone curriculum. With modifications, this curriculum is appropriate for middle or high school students. Topics include:

  • Basics of cyber security;
  • Basic mechanisms for protecting data;
  • Computer organization and components;
  • Security-related problem solving;
  • Networking and the internet;
  • Examining common cyber attacks;
  • Social engineering;
  • Cyber security ethics, digital citizenship, and law; and
  • Cyber security and crime.
